About the Role:

Neurocrine is building a team of talented scientists with proven track records to drive biotherapeutic lead selection and pipeline progression of our cutting-edge antibody programs into the clinic. We are seeking a cell biologist responsible for establishing stable CHO cell line development capability to support production of antibodies and other protein therapeutic agents.

The Senior Scientist, Cell Line Development will lead the establishment of cell line development capability, including workspace design, planning and conduct of laboratory activities related to creating stable CHO cell lines and characterizing their titer, product quality profile and stability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with expression vector construction, transfection and expansion of stable CHO pools and clonal selection of CHO cell lines in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company setting.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Set up cell line development processes and procedures

  • Carry out stable CHO transfections on antibody and bispecific programs

  • Design and carry out studies to optimize signal peptides and/or ratios for multiple chains

  • Expand stable CHO pools for protein expression purposes

  • Carry out clonal selection, fed batch evaluation, partnering with team members to evaluate titer, product quality attributes and assess cell line stability

  • Maintain appropriate documentation and prepare reports in support of regulatory filings

  • Serve as subject matter expert in interactions with CDMOs

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree and 4+ years of relevant experience OR

  • MS/MA degree and 3+ years of relevant experience OR

  • PhD or equivalent and some relevant experience in mammalian cell line development may include postdoc experience

  • Expert knowledge of molecular cloning, CHO expression vector construction and sequence analysis
