As a Manager of Software Development, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our product roadmap and ensuring successful implementation.

As a leader in tissue diagnostics, Roche is dedicated to developing innovative solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance. We are seeking a Manager of Software Development to spearhead the creation and implementation of innovative software solutions that drive our product excellence. You will play a critical role in ensuring our diagnostic devices consistently deliver value to our customers and patients worldwide.

• Manage and coach internal and external software engineers and build high-performing teams. Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate assignments.

• Oversee the engineering aspects of software project management, ensuring quality, scope, schedule, budget adherence, and successful delivery of software products, processes, and methods.

• Responsible for proactively maintaining and continuously developing the skills and technical expertise of the software development and architecture teams required to support the future needs of the product roadmap and our legacy products.

• Identify and assess the required internal and external resources and proficiencies to ensure project plans and deliverables are accurate, complete, and achievable.

• Monitor and manage capacity, skills, experience and work to ensure timely delivery and continuously promote Quality First Time.

• Evaluate, advocate for, and oversee the development of new software products, processes, and methodologies assessing need, fit, feasibility, and soundness. Ensure the creation and maintenance of automated tests. 

• Provide technical expertise, ensuring software aligns with coding standards, and regulatory requirements. As a subject matter expert, coaches team in solving software design obstacles.

• Collaborate with software leads to plan, implement, and document software development efforts. Ensure software documentation and deliverables are reviewed and aligned with our Quality System, relevant standards, and regulations.

Who you are:

• 6 Years experience in related functional area of expertise.

• 3 Years supervisory or project leader experience. 

• Experience with the end-to-end development process and the linkages. 

• Extensive experience in modular structured software development. 

• Experience with C# or C sharp

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with C, C++ and Python preferred

• Proven leadership and people management skills, including team building, coaching, goal setting, and developing talent.

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a focus on building relationships, providing constructive feedback, and fostering collaboration.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical conce
