Job Description
Lead a talented team that is chartered with ensuring that materials are ready and delivered to our 24x7 manufacturing lines on time, every time, so we meet our customers’ expectations of delivery. Manage and optimize the order picking, kitting, and transaction processes. Partner closely on site with Production Planning, Warehousing, and Manufacturing to proactively solve problems such as material shortages, schedule gaps, and inventory transaction issues. Continuously improve production control business processes, technology, and other tools that the team uses to achieve the goal. Support a one team culture, with high levels of communication, collaboration, accountability, and respect.
In this role you will:
Lead a team of 20+ order pickers, kitters, leads, and production control clerks preparing, organizing and delivering material to manufacturing. Manage their performance, as well as timely and accurate material transactions in SAP.
● Be accountable to key metrics including kits staged, line outages, missing/lost parts, and other related metrics. Measure, report, and manage to the data, driving improvement in performance and cost. Create and deploy new metrics as needed.
● Continuously improve and remove waste from the order kitting and delivery process using Lean and Lean Six Sigma tools such as kanban, 5S, and other tools.
● Use SAP as needed to perform all necessary transactions. Also use SAP to identify and address problems such as misplaced parts, improperly transacted work in progress, and similar.
● Partner with Manufacturing, Production Planning, and Warehousing to drive overall improvement of site performance. Lead and participate in improvement projects and tasks on both a strategic and tactical level as needed.
● Support and provide back up to adjacent functions and teams including Warehousing and Production Planning. Cross-train team to provide deep bench strength and skills to support core and back functions.
Basic Requirements
Required Skills:
● Bachelors degree in Business, Communications, Management, or Supply Chain
● 5 plus years of experience working as a Manager in a Industrial, Manufacturing, or Warehouse environment required.
● Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
