This is a Merit Hire position. The hourly rate for this position is $20.89 per hour. Dauphin County Drug & Alcohol Services is currently accepting applications for the full time position of Mobile Case Management Specialist Trainee. This position through a formalized training program and on-the-job training is responsible for conducting general case management for clients. This may include conducting client screenings and assessments, placements, and continued stay reviews; determining clients’ eligibility for treatment services and their financial liability; reviewing utilization of services; and making referrals to other social service agencies. This training provides the employee with the knowledge and skills needed to provide case management services to those seeking drug and alcohol services. As training progresses, employees are given more latitude and managing a small caseload of clients under direct and close supervision of the D&A Mobile Case Management Supervisor.
This work is intensively supervised and performed in various locations throughout the Dauphin County community. The position involves non- traditional hours as well as on call responsibilities. Due to the nature of responding to clients in need of treatment on an emergency basis, work hours may include all shifts and scheduled on-call response, 24 hours per day.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing or a related field.
- Or a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences.
- Or any equivalent training or experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required. The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire. An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
