Head of Real-Time Engineering

We are looking for an experienced engineering to lead development and delivery of the Real-Time and Equity Platform which will include Equity quant research and development, end-to-end index solution design and delivery, real-time index data ingestion, calculation and publication.

Key accountabilities:

Ensure high levels of service, quality, security, and performance are consistently met.

Drive innovations that promote FTSE Russell as a market leading Equities Real-Time provider delighting customers with rapid delivery of new products. Increasing TAM, AUM, ARR, volumes and reducing cost and TTM.

Accountable for a program of service improvement for the performance and availability of products and lead changing expectations around security, privacy, and data residency.

Drive a deep understanding of the index business lifecycle, guiding the team in maintaining the integrity and relevance of index methodologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Technology, and Operations, to streamline the index delivery lifecycle and ensure seamless execution.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, maintaining the highest levels of data integrity and transparency.

Lead the teams to deliver quality products on time, following Agile software development practices, DevOps, QA Automation and world-class cloud design standards.

Cultivate a high-performance management team through mentor, engagement, and performance management.

Champion a culture of quality, accountability, partnership, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.

Develop a collaborative, and inclusive team environment, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.

Key skills and experience:

Shown experience in leading real-time data, equity products and analytics systems and financial indices, with a strong understanding of index methodologies and market data.

Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading and developing diverse teams.

Excellent communication and management of diverse partners, capable of working effectively with clients, internal teams, and external partners.

In-depth knowledge of the index lifecycle, including creation, maintenance, and updates with a focus on ensuring accuracy and relevance.

Customer-focused approach, with the ability to develop innovative index products that meet market needs and enhance customer satisfaction.

Experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Product, Technology, and Operations teams, to deliver seamless index solutions.

Critical thinking with the ability to analyse market trends and drive continuous improvement in index offerings.

Ability to put customer first and partner closely with product, sales and operations teams to craft solutions for clients.

Own and define the client outcome with the product team and not just take ‘specs.

Desired Experience:

Understanding of how Generative AI can be applied in index creation and delivery.

Extensive knowledge and experience in design and development of Index or Portfolio Management systems.

Experience in financial services or data analytics, specifically in index creation or real-time data systems.

Demonstrated success in managing teams and projects within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Proven ability to innovate and adapt index products to changing market conditions and customer needs.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.

Compensation/Benefits Information (New York applicants only):

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $216,000 - $401,200.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
