Position Summary

The Chief Mission Systems Technician will organize, plan, and manage new aircraft mission systems technicians ensuring all actions across all levels of the enterprise are effectively coordinated. The position will be required to provide oversight, standardization, and training for deployed assets and elements assigned to the company as well as subject matter expertise in support of future growth and development of additional capability in support of additional opportunities and capability.

Essential Functions and Competency Statements 

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mission systems and payloads currently integrated on aircraft and platforms as well as emerging requirements and needs. 
  • Coordinates with MSA-ISR MST personnel forward deployed, serving as a conduit and point of contact for all technical questions and concerns. Serves point of contact between assigned Mission System Technicians, Flight Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, Site Management, and Program Management in order to solve issues and in support of improved standardization and configuration management.
  • Responsible for the Mission System Technician standardization and associated training program, creating initial and refresher training curriculum as required, evaluation standards, and training status. Training will include and ensure effective and standardized means to – 
    1. Isolate malfunctions using diagnostic software, technical data, block diagrams, and other tests requiring specialized test equipment. 
    2. Correct procedures for removing, repairing, and replacing assemblies and subassemblies to optimally sustain voice, data, and video networks. 
    3. Ability to correctly fabricate, terminate, and interconnect wiring and associated network infrastructure devices.
    4. Troubleshoot network issues involving VLANs and simple routing configurations.
    5. How to handle and properly safeguard Communications Security (COMESEC) equipment and material.
    6. Build of systems from scratch when all required software and hardware are available.
    7. Completion of all administratively required forms, records, and documents on schedule and in support of an effective configuration management program.
  • Coordinates with internal and external agencies, and other service providers to provide solutions that analyze and isolate performance faults and implement corrective actions.
