Staff Accountant

Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate financial operations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and attention to detail. The Staff Accountant will assist with general ledger entries, reconciliations, and support the overall financial management of the organization. Government Contracting/ Deltek experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Accounting:
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Financial Reporting:
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Generate financial reports and analyze variances.
• Account Reconciliation:
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable:
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
• Month-End and Year-End Close:
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
• Compliance & Internal Controls:
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.
• Special Projects:
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Provide support for process improvements and automation efforts.
