Job Description

Oteemo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic and innovative team. In this crucial role, you will focus on automating QA components within scrum cycles for key business modernization initiatives. Additionally, there may be opportunities to contribute beyond the regular cycles, such as addressing end-to-end scenarios or integrating with legacy applications, which are currently managed manually. We encourage the introduction of fresh insights and innovative approaches to streamline and automate various touchpoints in these processes. Your expertise and innovative thinking will play a crucial role in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and design comprehensive test plans.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Identify and report defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Implement and enhance test automation frameworks to streamline the testing process.
• Participate in code reviews and provide valuable insights to improve overall code quality.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in QA Automation with programming languages such as Java, Python, Javascript, or Typescript.
• Expertise in Web Application/UI Testing with Selenium
• Hands-on experience in implementing Behavior Driven Development (BDD) Testing with Cucumber
• Experience automating Test Suites with CI/CD Pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab or GitHub)
• Experience in Performance/Load Testing with JMeter or Gatling
• Experience Testing RESTful APIs with tools like Postman and/or RESTassured for API testing
• Expertise in ensuring cross-browser compatibility of web applications.
• Strong familiarity with Git for version control.
• Database Experience Using SQL Queries.
• Proven track record of using agile/lean methodologies and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, iterative development environment
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence for project management and documentation

Desired Qualifications:

• JUnit experience a plus
• Familiarity with performance testing tools and techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial services and mortgage industries, and be able to work effectively in an agile/lean development environment.
• Certification in software testing or related areas.
