What You’ll Do
The Advanced Controller Development (ACD) is part of Samsung’s Memory Business Unit, the industry's technology and volume leader in DRAM, NAND Flash. ACD’s vision is to solve key problems of Cloud & Data center by developing the new technology for memory and storage. We are an integral part of Samsung’s strong R&D focus & lab innovation engine. We work closely with development teams to bring feature innovation to product roadmaps.
Come join the team that is creating new computing system architectures needed to support emerging machine learning applications, data analytics and edge computing. You’ll focus on enhancement of memory and storage capability by developing prototype controllers and optimizing them for mass production.
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

- Responsible for designing power architecture of a SoC meeting power/performance requirements by analyzing power budgets, selecting proper power management techniques.
- Work closely with other SoC architects, design engineers, and layout engineers to integrate power-aware design considerations into overall SoC architecture.
- Monitor and drive activities to keep SoC power within budget throughout the development cycle.
What You Bring
- BE (MS or Ph.D preferred) in Electronics Engineering with 15+ years of working experiences in relevant fields.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and power management techniques.
- Expert level knowledge and experience in power management techniques like clock gating, voltage scaling, power gating, and Dynamic Voltage Frequency Scaling.
- Experience with power analysis tools like Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys PrimeTime-PX, and power simulation tools.
- Good knowledge in physical design considerations for power delivery networks.
- Experience in SoC architecture, logic design and implementation.
- Self-motivated problem-solver with an ability to work well in a team.

Preferred skills:
- Good knowledge in overall SoC design flow from architecture to tapeout.
- Experience and knowledge in advanced memory technology like HBM.
- Highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills.
