Summary
The Marketing Lead will plan and execute marketing strategies and tactics, including campaigns and programs, to support the growth of the company’s energy business, including refined fuels, lubricants and propane. Through collaboration with product and business leaders, the Marketing Lead will ensure alignment with our purpose of creating connections to empower agriculture, company strategies, marketing priorities and business and product goals. This person will collaboratively lead advertising, tradeshows, social media and other promotional tactics to help to position the company’s energy business for growth and build awareness of the Cenex brand.
This role will collaborate with other marketing and/or communications teammates and leaders, as well as business stakeholders and others to meet requirements and support growth.
The Marketing Lead will utilize the latest marketing strategies, tactics and approaches, utilizing best practices to produce marketing campaigns and tactics that generate results while leveraging both internal and external (e.g., agencies) expertise.
Responsibilities
- Plan and develop marketing strategies, campaigns and tactics in collaboration with business and product teams.
- Provide innovative marketing solutions to create awareness, preference and demand for CHS and its products and services, championing new approaches that drive results.
- Understand energy platform, product lines and channels to ensure marketing strategies and tactics align with business and customer needs and that product brands are compatible with CHS brand.
- Collaboratively develop and lead execution of marketing strategies aligned with company and business segment goals, delivering projects or initiatives that are on time, on budget, meet or exceed goals and support consistently excellent brand experiences.
- Establish and maintain credibility with stakeholders through effective ongoing collaboration and engagement.
- Lead team in consistently delivering results thru campaign planning and execution to achieve desired outcomes that meet business goals.
- Communicate effectively to inform, build trust, ensure alignment, achieve objectives and deliver results thru effective ongoing communication and collaboration.
- Leverage work from outside marketing agencies or other providers and define and refine best practices and standard processes to deliver exceptional results.
- Measure for effectiveness and continuously improve, applying and sharing learnings about campaigns, events or programs to help build organizational proficiency in marketing.
- Work with marketing, communications and business leaders and teams to create and integrate content for meetings and events, digital and social channels and C Magazine that promote CHS and its solutions.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, advertising and/or marketing communications.
- Demonstrated success leading the planning and execution of successful marketing campaigns or initiatives.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and communicating effectively with business leaders.
- Proven people and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload and work effectively in a high-pressure, high-stakes environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and skills.
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in agronomy, ag business, ag marketing or ag communications (or marketing, business, advertising, public relations, communications or related degree).
