Hours: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 12:30PM - 10:30PM

GSVS Veterinary Emergency Services Morristown is located in northern New Jersey and approximately 25 miles west of New York City. Garden State Veterinary Services, our sister ER/Specialty practice, has relocated to a 30,000 sq-ft facility in Woodbridge, as this will allow us to provide more advanced care for the nearby communities. We are looking for veterinarians who would like to join our family and help us continue to provide veterinary care to the community we have faithfully served since 1994.

Schedule:

• Practice open 7 days/week, 1PM - 10PM
• Shift hours are from Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 12:30PM - 10:30PM

Veterinary Assistants at GSVS work alongside veterinary technicians and emergent care doctors and have access to the most advanced diagnostic tools to provide the best possible care. On any given day, you can expect to do the following as a veterinary assistant:

• Provide support to doctors and technicians
• Restrain patients for exams and procedures
• Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
• Monitor and document patient’s vital signs
• Assist with obtaining radiographs
• Properly use and maintain hospital equipment

Once these skills are mastered and trust with the team is built, with continued oversight and training, you can expect to begin learning how to:

• Perform medical math calculations
• Provide high level nursing care to all patients
• Administer medications
• Place IVCs and obtain blood samples from various access points

About you:

• 1 year of veterinary experience is preferred
• Ability to take direction
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment
• Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
• Positive outlook and friendly, team-orientated attitude
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!
