The opportunity
Business Intelligence Analyst – Surety (Mid-Level)
We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Surety team – someone who takes pride in building high‑quality Power BI solutions, enjoys owning projects end‑to‑end, and values strong partnership with business users.
This role is ideal for a BI professional who already has a solid foundation in Power BI best practices and is ready to take the lead on data models and reporting initiatives that are actively used by business leaders. You’ll work on meaningful, visible analytics projects, collaborate closely with stakeholders, and help shape how data is used across a growing Surety organization within Intact.
Our BI team operates with a strong emphasis on ownership, quality, and developing innovative solutions that continuously improve how the business uses data. We invest in scalable architecture, clean semantic models, and thoughtful design.
What you’ll do
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical BI solutions.
- Own reporting and analytics efforts from start to finish, ensuring solutions are accurate, useful, and aligned with business needs.
- Create clear, intuitive dashboards that balance business usability with technical rigor.
- Identify and troubleshoot data quality or logic issues that impact reporting.
- Design and maintain scalable Power BI data models that support enterprise reporting.
- Build and optimize DAX measures, including time intelligence and more advanced calculations.
- Respond to feedback from users and continuously refine reports to improve clarity, usability, and relevance.
- Collaborate with other BI developers through reviews and shared best practices.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Surety business and use that knowledge to proactively suggest new insights or reporting opportunities.
The expertise you bring
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics.
- Strong hands-on Power BI experience (semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query).
- Comfort working with SQL and enterprise data sources.
- Experience supporting production BI content with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Ability to communicate trade-offs, assumptions, and definitions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $78,000 - $109,000 based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Washington DC; our Massachusetts based offices and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $98,000 - $114,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
