About the role

The Gemstone Acquisition Coordinator supports the successful execution of high-volume, complex Hardstone  product development initiatives by partnering with the Senior Analyst, Product Development, and cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
This role combines gemstone expertise, project management, and procurement coordination to ensure product 
development milestones are achieved while maintaining Tiffany & Co.’s quality, responsible sourcing, and 
commercialization standards. The coordinator serves as the primary operational partner for Hardstone development projects, helping drive timely execution from concept through production readiness.

Key Accountabilities

Project Management Support

  • Partner with the Senior Analyst and Management to coordinate and execute Hardstone product 
    development projects from concept through commercialization.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and workflow required to support product development 
    launches and sampling.
  • Evaluate product development samples to ensure compliance with approved quality, color, cut, 
    and design parameters.
  • Identify project risks, recommend solutions, and proactively remove obstacles impacting timelines.
  • Support to maintain GPP’s (Gemstone Product Parameters), color control sets to support grading 
    consistency and production readiness.
  • Coordinate timely cross-functional reviews, approvals, and product sign-offs.
  • Manage multiple development timelines, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring cross-functional alignment.

Procurement

  • Coordinate supplier communication regarding development priorities, sample requests, pricing, 
    and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate project priorities with Product Development, Jewelry Design & Innovation Workshop (JDIW), Manufacturing, Operations, and Grading teams.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and product development data throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with Operations and the Gemstone Grading Lab to improve workflow, reduce bottlenecks, 
    and ensure timely movement of development materials.
  • Monitor priority development orders and coordinate with grading to support commercialization 
    timelines.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental security, safety, and 6S workplace standards.

Gemological Expertise

  • Provide technical gemstone expertise for Hardstone product development projects.
  • Identify and communicate gemstone quality observations to support continuous product 
    improvement.
  • Support grading initiatives across gemstone categories as business needs require.

Location: This is a fully on-site position based at our Corporate Office in NYC. 

Assignment Duration: Estimated from August through the end of December 2026.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent 
    initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to partner across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of gemstone grading laboratory processes and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in JD Edwards and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to photograph gemstones for documentation and product development records.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Commitment to Responsible Sourcing, confidentiality, security, and company policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate Gemologist (GG) designation.
  • 5–7 years of Tiffany & Co. colored gemstone and pearl grading experience.
  • Knowledge of grading laboratory equipment including microscope, loupe, Sarine machine, leverage 
    gauge, and melee scope.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional product development or commercialization projects.

The hiring range for this position ranges from $27.88 -$32.80 per hour. The rate of pay offered will be dependent on candidates' relevant skills and experience.
