NCSY, a program of the Orthodox Union, connects with Jewish teens through innovative, cutting-edge social and recreational programs to develop a positive Jewish identity. NCSY inspires Jewish teens through informal Jewish education, retreats and summer programs. NCSY empowers teens through leadership development and guidance to become passionately committed leaders of the Jewish community and instruments for positive change and renewal. 

 

The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, , is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

 

Position Summary:

The role involves warmly welcoming visitors and managing front desk responsibilities such as phone calls, emails, mail, and maintaining a professional office environment. It also includes providing administrative support to the Regional Director, including scheduling, travel arrangements, expense tracking, and office supply coordination. Additionally, the position supports communication efforts, event logistics, and collaboration with staff, vendors, and external partners.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk Duties:

  • Greet and welcome guests, parents, teens, and visitors in a warm and professional manner
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment

Administrative Support:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Regional Director
  • Maintain office supplies and coordinate purchases as needed
  • Help with calendar management, travel bookings, and meeting coordination
  • Assist with data entry, contact lists, and filing systems
  • Track and submit expense reports and reimbursements
  • Support logistics and coordination for regional events and programs

Communications & Coordination:

  • Assist with preparing internal and external communications
  • Collaborate with other NCSY staff across departments and regions
  • Serve as a liaison to vendors, caterers, and event venues as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general office software
  • Prior experience in an administrative, customer service, or office setting preferred
  • A warm and professional demeanor with a can-do attitude
  • Familiarity with Jewish community life and values is a plus

 

Benefits:

 The salary for this position is between $45,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience.
