Physician – Acute Care/Critical Care Surgery
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Acute Care/Critical Care Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Minneapolis, MN. This casual position offers an opportunity to provide high-acuity surgical care within a multidisciplinary team at a leading academic health system. You will work in a collaborative environment that supports both community-focused care and academic excellence.
Practice Highlights:
- Provide care for emergency general surgery, critical care, and trauma patients.
- Participate in daytime and/or nighttime acute care surgery, critical care and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) coverage based on availability and need.
- Evaluate patients in the outpatient surgery clinic and perform elective surgery as needed.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including emergency medicine, anesthesia, and critical care medicine.
- Support a strong teaching mission through interactions with residents and medical students.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME General Surgery residency and Surgical Critical Care fellowship program.
- Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
- Eligible for medical licensure and DEA registration in the State of Minnesota.
- Must meet credentialing and privileging standards at affiliated hospital sites.
Compensation and Benefits:
M Physicians provides compensation in the amount of $266 per hour.
This is a casual position and is not eligible for benefits. However, M Physicians will provide Professional Liability and Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage.

Our acute care and critical care surgeons practice at affiliated sites through the M Health Fairview care delivery system—a collaboration between University of Minnesota Physicians, University of Minnesota Medical Center, and Fairview Health.
This integrated model supports excellence in clinical care, education, and research.
