Maintenance Supervisor for Parish (NE)

About the role

Under the general direction of the Facilities Director, this position is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds of the parish, overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies, determining and scheduling repairs or renovation projects, and coordinating safety inspections.

Essential Functions

  • Assures the safe operation of the building facility daily.
  • Reviews, leads, and coordinates the activities of building service workers or contractors. Inspects custodial services performed by third party custodial company and communicates special needs.
  • Responds to requests from administration and faculty for custodial services during the day.
  • Assists in the set up and preparation for special activities.
  • Maintains and inventories, janitorial and housekeeping supplies.
  • Develops and implements scheduled cleanings.
  • Performs regular maintenance and upkeep schedule on all equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.

Position Qualifications

  • Ability to self-motivate, manage responsibilities, and work independently, including strong multi-tasking and critical thinking skill.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work, communicate effectively, and maintain good relationships with staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs. consistently and up to 50lbs. occasionally. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Some experience with Facilities Maintenance, (especially plumbing, HVAC, and electrical), grounds, and general maintenance preferred.
