We are currently in need of Certified Medical Assistants that are dedicated to improving the overall health of our community by providing medical care for the entire family. Our Medical Assistants operate at the very highest level of their skills they provide comprehensive, team-based care in a fast-paced environment within a non-profit, community healthcare setting. Our Medical Assistants love HSNT because we treat patients from all walks of life and have a direct impact in our patients’ lives.
HSNT is seeking MAs that are passionate about providing care, education, and resources in a community health setting to patients and families that have very limited options for their medical needs; and those medical assistants that have a desire to further their career in the medical field.
A day in the life of our Medical Assistants may look like this:
- Assist medical providers with exams and procedures
- Triages phone calls and messages
- Prepare patient for exams, take vital signs
- Perform routine screening tests and procedures and administer injections
- Fill out appropriate paperwork for each patient visit
- Maintain compliance with required reporting; HIPAA and HSNT standards
- Maintain adequate clinical supplies and equipment to provide uninterrupted patient care
We ask our medical assistants to possess a minimum of:
- Successful completion of a medical assistant program required
- Active certification as a medical assistant strongly preferred or able to secure within 60-days of employment
- Prior CMA experience in a clinical setting
- Strong customer service skills with demonstrated positive attitude in high pressure situations
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Must be available to travel between sites as needed

Requirements
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong clinical skill set with ability to serve as a knowledge expert to other medical support staff, including serving as clinical electronic health record subject-matter expert, super user.
- Must have proven skills in working independently, self-motivated, goal oriented, strong initiative, and be a self-starter.
- Ability to organize and prioritize.
- Ability to triage to determine level of urgency in scheduling.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with providers, third party payers, physicians, and staff from all departments within and outside the Agency.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) a plus.
- Proficiency with data entry (including familiarity with electronic health record systems).
- Strongly developed attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt easily to changing environments.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work with people and work under pressure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to relate to individuals from a variety of racial, ethnic, religious, and cultural/socioeconomic backgrounds, including various sexual orientations.
- Ability to work at any HSNT location, other than assigned site and ability to work weekends, as responsibilities may dictate.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 1-year previous full-time experience in a role within a medical environment with direct contact with medical records.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ability to read reports, and understand documentation.
- Previous supervisory experience in an outpatient clinical setting
- Knowledge of 3rd party reimbursement programs.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
Work Environment:
- The activity for this position requires the employee to work in-person onsite in a clinical setting.
- May be required to work alternative schedules.
- Must be able to move, transport, position, and lift up
