Job Description Summary

The Research Program Manager provides support in the planning, management, reporting, and communications for the IES Predoctoral Training Program—a program that provides ongoing training and support to a group of Ph.D. students in education sciences from schools across the University who engage in weekly seminars, special methods training workshops, and other professional activities to enhance their development as education scientists. The Research Program Manager will also provide technical and logistical support for ongoing research projects. The Research Program Manager supports the Program Director and co-PI.

This position is contingent upon grant funding until June 30, 2026.

Job Description

  • Plan and support weekly seminar series and methods training workshops: Work with the PIs to plan, publicize, and support the weekly seminar series, including scheduling speakers, coordinating on-site meetings for them; arranging travel, managing technology support for seminars and meetings, managing expense reimbursements and honoraria payments, coordinate logistical needs for seminars and trainings (e.g., lunches, AV, etc.).

  • Support PIs in fellow participation and achievements: Coordinate fellow recruitment activities; Plan and hold monthly fellows meetings; Plan registration, travel, expense reimbursement, etc.

  • Provide technical and logistical support for ongoing research projects: Manage the budgets and reports for research grants, Conduct data preparation, management, and analysis for research projects; Support the development of research proposals by conducting literature reviews and research summaries.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience combined.

  • Strong project management, planning, administrative, and organizational skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Experience managing budgets and programmatic expenses

  • Experience with data collection, management, and analysis

  • Experience with data collection software, such as Qualtrics

PREFERRED:

  • A Master’s degree in education is preferred

  • Experience in event planning and coordination preferred.

  • Experience in website and communications management preferred.
