Job DetailsJob Location: Kansas - Olathe, KSPosition Type: Part TimePosition Summary: MidAmerica Nazarene University seeks a part-time Pioneer Trek Director/Coordinator for Global Missions Engagement to support MNU-based academic and missions projects aligned with Nazarene Global Missions priorities. This grant-funded position will direct Pioneer Trek faculty-led projects, student participation, communication, logistics, and reporting, working in close coordination with our partners at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and the Nazarene Global Missions team.
This is a part-time, grant-funded position of up to 20 hours per week and is currently funded through the 2028–2029 academic year.
Primary Responsibilities
Direct all aspects of MNU’s Pioneer Trek program including coordinating MNU-based projects aligned with Nazarene Global Missions priorities and the recently funded Missions Collaborative project.
Assist faculty in identifying, shaping, and proposing mission-aligned academic/service projects.
Support faculty-led project implementation, including course integration, timelines, and institutional processes.
Facilitate onboarding for team members through orientation and ongoing study.
Coordinate student participation in course-based projects, research, internships, and co-curricular project teams.
Manage project logistics, communication, scheduling, and documentation.
Monitor project progress and communicate updates, challenges, and needs.
Collect and share participation data and project outcomes for reporting and learning.
Promote awareness of MNU-based project opportunities among faculty and students.
QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
Degree in intercultural studies, Christian ministry, theology, education, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
Experience managing projects, grants, academic initiatives, or ministry programs.
International ministry, missions, or cross-cultural work experience.
University teaching experience or experience supporting course-based learning.
Research experience in collecting and reporting program data.
Familiarity with the Church of the Nazarene and Nazarene Global Missions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students, administrators, and international partners.
Ability to manage multiple timelines and project details.
Understanding of intercultural ministry, global missions, and higher education.
Ability to collect, organize, and communicate project data and outcomes.
Commitment to the mission and values of MidAmerica Nazarene University.
