Job Description
The Encore Boston Harbor Shift Supervisor – Security will be responsible for coordinating security activity, monitoring security staff, maintaining security protection, which includes money transactions, public relations, assisting guests/customers and Team Members as needed, and maintaining order in both the interior and exterior areas of the property . Duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining processes, scheduling, and supporting department team members and maximizing opportunities for departmental success; maintaining all Encore Standards; and ensuring excellent guest and team member experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
- Directly supervise multiple Security Officers at various posts throughout the property.
- Observes the Security staff to evaluate and document their performance and correct any deficiencies observed.
- Ensure all keys, flashlights, radios and other security equipment is serviceable and properly cared for during the course of the officer’s shift.
- Knowledgeable of local laws concerning arrest and detention of suspected criminals detained on property.
- Ensure that posted Security Officers are provided relief.
- Assist management with creating and maintain work and vacation schedules.
- Enforces progressive disciplinary measure on staff members as necessary.
- Assumes Assistant Manager responsibilities during their absence.
- Notifies executive management, law enforcement or Investigations whenever an incident requires it.
- Ensure that all Security Officers under their supervision adhere to the personal presentation standards and present a positive, courteous and professional image to guests.
- Ensures that all lost and found items are turned into the Lost and Found office as soon as possible but no later than the end of the shift.
- Participates in short-and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
- Reports any unsafe conditions to the Assistant Shift Manager.
- Performs all duties of Security Officers as needed.
- Actively contributes to the departmental performance, and the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures; records and reports.
- Keeps informed of all new developments within the department.
- Effectively manages guest relations with patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Manages multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
- Must have the ability to promote positive, fair, and ethical relations with all team members and all Encore vendors .

- Assumes responsibility of the shift operations in the absence of the Assistant Shift Manager.
- Analyzes security needs, estimate costs, and present proposals to the Assistant Shift Manager.
- Works with safety as a priority, and follows department and company safety standards.
- Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
Performs any other job related duties as assigned by Security management.

Age, Gaming and Certifications:
21 years of age or above.
Will be required to obtain and maintain a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
Must be able to acquire and maintain any licensing or active work cards required for this position at all times, to include an alcohol awareness card and valid driver’s license a
