Business Development Manager

ARA’s Engineering Science Division (ESD) is seeking a dedicated business development professional with expertise and contacts in the training, marketing, and communication disciplines. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining key business relationships in the Government and commercial marketplaces, with a primary responsibility for identifying and developing opportunities for business expansion. The business development director also plays a key role in developing marketing strategies and providing input into business plans.
What you will do as a business development manager:
- Develop a detailed marketing strategy and execution plan.
- Capture and interpret market intel; share intel with others through regular communications and through entry into ARA’s customer resource management (CRM) system.
- Provide input into a long-range business plan and develop and maintain business relationships with domestic and international customers.
- Meet with customers to understand their needs and help them understand how ARA may help their efforts.
- Represent ARA at conferences and trade shows.
- Assist with preparation/delivery of briefings to ARA senior leadership.
- Collaborate with ARA subject matter experts to develop value propositions to customers.
Business development manager requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing, training, communications, or a related field
- 10+ years of business development experience, with specific knowledge of the training, marketing, and communications marketplace.
- Demonstrated success in procuring bookings through detailed business development processes.
- Experience with training, marketing, and communications opportunities within the Federal Government and commercial sector.
- Availability and willingness to travel (up to 30% time).
