You will serve as a key liaison between IT and end users, ensuring the successful configuration, maintenance, and development of assigned applications and systems, all while improving patient care and operational efficiency.

Applications Analyst II
The Applications Analyst II is responsible for supporting application systems and providing subject matter expertise to departments across Deaconess. This includes escalation support, new component development, data integration, reporting, and maintenance tasks. You’ll translate business needs into technical solutions and collaborate with clinical and operational teams to optimize system functionality.
Job Overview:

Troubleshoot and resolve issues escalated from the Help Desk and user base

Translate clinical or business needs into functional and technical specifications

Develop and maintain screens, scripts, queries, reports, and automated processes

Perform routine system administration and monitor application performance
-
Participate in integration development between internal and external systems
-
Perform testing and validation of system changes and enhancements
-
Maintain documentation for all updates and application changes
-
Provide application training and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned systems
-
Participate in change management procedures and production control processes

Support strategic growth opportunities by aligning technology with business needs
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
-
3–7 years of relevant experience in application development and system support
Licensure & Certifications
-
None required
Skills & Competencies
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Visio)

Experience with SQL, Crystal Reports, Cognos, Business Objects, or other reporting tools

Programming experience with COBOL, Visual Basic, .NET, or similar languages
-
Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

Knowledge of application development lifecycle, change control, and testing methodologies

Technical writing and process design experience preferred

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and independently as needed
