As the Manager, Materials Operations, you will be responsible for leading the procurement, planning, warehousing and distribution activities of all goods and services in support of project and product manufacturing and field service business lines. Responsible for developing and achieving objectives related to total acquisition costs, inventory turnover objectives and supply chain cost improvement programs in alignment with overall business goals.
Responsible for optimizing the performance of current supply chains, implementing lean six sigma methodologies to improve supply chain lead time and inventory accuracy. Accountable for improving the cost of goods and service throughout their lifecycle. Collaborates with the Valmet Global Supply team to ensure end-to-end Supply Chain excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish supply chain key metrics to drive performance in a manner which positively impacts business financials.
Drive data analytics initiatives to support quantitative business decisions.
Responsible for improving Inventory Control accuracy to minimize adjustments in a quantifiable manner.
Oversee Purchasing functions; implement improvement plans to achieve annualized cost reduction targets.
Lead Strategic Sourcing and Demand Planning departments to ensure consistent product supply globally.
Manage global contract negotiations to secure favorable terms.
Lead Supply Chain organization in a way which enhances cross-functional collaboration throughout the organization.
Consolidate regional supply chains into a synchronized global system.
Support Sales & Operations Planning process to ensure procurement, distribution, and management of raw materials supports a competitive market environment regarding cost and lead-time.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Economics, or 10-15 years of relevant experience.
Five or more years managing supply chain operations and personnel in a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record in global contract negotiations and unifying supply chain structures.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
Exceptional negotiation, relationship-building, and communication abilities.
Experience in team leadership, mentorship, and capability enhancement.
