What will you do? 

A day in the life of an Assistant Merchandiser at The North Face looks a little like this. 

As a Merchandising Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the merchandising team drive sales for the DTC channel in the Americas region. Under close supervision, you will collaborate with the team to analyze product performance and execute merchandising channel strategies through seasonal buys. Your responsibilities will also involve assisting in report generation/data analysis, sample management support, strategy execution, and systems/tool maintenance. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in buying/merchandising, contribute to a dynamic team, and develop a strong foundation in the industry. Your efforts will contribute to optimizing product assortments and enhancing overall business performance. This role reports into the Senior Manager, Merchandising (Americas).

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. 

• Support the team in line/assortment review prep (pulling and organizing product grids, line list extracts, etc).
• Assist in data maintenance and updates
• Sample support: Work with cross-functional teams to pull samples for Go-To-Market milestones.
• Ensure accurate inputs into assortment request and submission systems.
• Own Canada assortments and seasonal buys in buy tool with manager supervision.
• Support the team with buy tool updates throughout seasonal buying process.
• Pull reports/data for merchandising team to make assortment decisions in pre-season planning to drive business.
• Conduct market analysis & visits to understand current state of marketplace and where TNF stands in comparison.
• Identify solutions within established processes and present recommendations to the team.
• Work with cross-functional partners to understand processes, deliverable expectations, and build relationships.
• Responsible for working with manager in planning tasks and deliverables.

What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 1-3 years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are: 

• High school diploma; Associate's degree (preferred)
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Strong time management skills with a sense of urgency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
• Location requirement: Denver, CO
