Job Summary

The Deployment Engineer supports remote projects involving the deployment, decommissioning, and migration of critical facility hardware including network, server, storage, and security devices. This role involves coordination with vendors and cross-functional teams, infrastructure planning, documentation, and remote troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

This Engineer 2 can be based in either Mt Laurel, NJ; Centennial, CO; or Bellmawr, NJ. It is not open to remote or virtual employment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage remote deployment projects, including timelines, resources, and change control.
  • Execute remote rack, stack, power, and cabling planning for equipment in critical facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and support hardware installations remotely, including RMA activities and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain and update DCIM tools and infrastructure documentation.
  • Develop and oversee Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for remote installations and maintenance.
  • Manage inventory of copper, fiber, and power cabling with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure proper device placement planning based on power, cooling, and structured cabling requirements.
  • Interface with vendors for remote installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of equipment.
  • Provide risk and quality assessments for deployment plans.
  • Support logistics for hardware shipping and receiving at data center locations.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience deploying switches, routers, and servers in data center environments.
  • Strong understanding of IP networking, including HSD, Voice, and Data Networking.
  • Familiarity with power distribution systems (PDU, ATS, UPS) and HVAC dynamics.
  • Proven ability to manage infrastructure projects and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and ticketing tools.
  • Knowledge of IP protocol suite (ARP, IP, TCP, DNS, SNMP).
  • Strong vendor management and infrastructure planning capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and make decisions in dynamic environments.
