Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant (MA) assist the medical center staff in providing medical or technical procedures and assist with patient flow and care. Specific duties include, taking vital signs, giving handouts, graphing height, weight, blood-pressure, giving injections, and ensuring that appropriate tests are completed prior to doctor's examination.Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California required
Experience
3 months of experience in the medical field required
Training in giving injections preferred
Licenses and Certifications
BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
