Veterinary Assistant

VCA Henderson Pass Animal Hospital located in San Antonio Texas is looking for Veterinary Assistants to join their 2-doctor General Practice! 

We need experienced (minimum 2 years) Veterinary Assistants or Certified Veterinary Assistants to provide excellent patient care with a focus on wellness and client education.  We are willing to train the right person.  Veterinary Assistants are responsible for preparing exam rooms for the doctors and assisting in providing care for the patients hospitalized in the treatment area. 

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. Flexible scheduling.  Monday-Friday, 8a-6p.  We are hiring 1 person for this position.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $18.00 / hour. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.

As a member of the VCA Henderson Pass team, you will support the Technician and Doctor team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:

• Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals.
• Maintaining medical records.
• Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed.
• Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.
