Principal Product Manager

Product teams within the division are focused on delivering core capabilities for developers who are creating and maintaining their apps whether for the desktop. mobile, Cloud or the Web! We pride ourselves in delivering developer tools and experiences that are the best, and the most popular in the industry. Today our tools are used by used by a vast number of community, student, hobbyist and open-source developers, as well as developers and enterprise organizations too.  

The era of AI is transforming developer tools. We’ve seen this with IntelliCode and now significantly with GitHub Copilot whether code completion or all the new experiences with ‘chat’. These are at the forefront of AI-assisted developer experiences.  Our tools teams work together with GitHub to deliver AI-assistance whether you, as a developer, are writing or coding, debugging, diagnosing, testing, committing and reviewing code—and more! AI models, quality of results, and the user-interaction or experiences are key to developer satisfaction, high productivity and user adoption. And as we create extensibility, we are adding Copilot experiences that deliver relevance beyond just the local coding development environment, such as with Azure, or other 3rd parties too.  

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to support our expanding effort with our GitHub Copilot capabilities within the broad range of the Visual Studio family of tools and more. This role will focus on two areas. One in driving quality experiences in both new and existing capabilities with a perspective towards high relevance, great UX and user engagement, and accuracy of results. The second to support our forward thinking exploration. 

This position requires a technical, hands-on Product Manager that is familiar with developers, with code, and especially with applying AI models and techniques. It requires a high degree of creativity and critical thinking! This person will work across many groups and teams—especially with our code language teams, with our data science teams, and with many internal and external partners too. The role weaves together customer knowledge, technical know-how and always with an eye towards delivering high customer satisfaction.
