Job Summary:

The Director, Product Management provides strategic leadership and management to the electronics product category for the Locks & Access Solutions SBU and is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of product strategies that align and support the overall SBU strategy to meet customer and market needs. This role will drive development and implementation of innovative strategies in their team to optimize the product portfolio, ensuring that resources are most effectively allocated toward the best opportunities to achieve business goals. The Director, Product Management uses their excellent leadership, communication ability, analytical skills and business acumen to maximize the growth, development and return on investment of the product portfolio strategy through leadership of their direct team and partnerships with stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for the product strategy and product roadmap for the product category ensuring alignment across the organization inclusive of software; owns and develops critical strategic and operational goals and execution plans to achieve desired results

  • Focuses on optimizing product processes, product improvements, quality, etc. across the product category; participates in related initiatives across the organizationSeeks input, influences, and aligns with leaders at all levels regarding prioritization of product initiatives for the category, SBU and Allegion

  • Maintains expert knowledge of the markets and channels of the category including B2B  customer needs, industry trends, and go-to market strategy; evaluates assessments of PRDs, competitive landscape & market opportunities to inform strategic decisions. Brings thought leadership to the product category & stakeholders consistently driving outside-in perspective

  • Drives development of comprehensive business cases & new business opportunities applying deep comprehension of business and financial acumen

  • Influences business decisions made by SBU General Manager & senior leadership; assists with development of the long-range plan, annual operating plan and other strategic business plans

  • Actively assesses the performance of product line(s) through financial metrics & KPIs; prioritizes investment, projects and activities to best position the category for profitable improvement over time

  • Leads by example with excellent relationships and broad influence within the business unit and larger organization to align others toward shared goals without direct authority. Proactively identifies possible areas of conflict and partners with stakeholder(s) to identify resolutions 

  • Communicates with senior leadership to ensure awareness and understanding on matters of strategic importance
