Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Chat Assistant team, you will own the engineering of Walmart Care Chat Assistant, leveraging Generative AI and bot technologies to resolve customer issues and improve customer experience. You will be responsible for creating a long-term strategy for Store Item Platform and a transformative path for a talented group of engineers.What You'll Do:

• Support Walmart Care Chat Assistant engineering, leveraging GenAI and bot technologies to resolve customer issues and improve customer experience.
• Solve for customer pain points, business objectives, and platform improvements to continuously improve our rate of impact and return on investment.
• Support the development of applications leveraging F#, Python, and FE technologies (React Framework & Typescript, native iOS and Android applications).
• Assist with building, developing & guiding high-performing talent for the Care Assistant Engineering team.
• Support business objectives by collaborating with internal partners to identify opportunities; addressing high-priority initiatives (for example a business strategy, technical feasibility, implementation alternatives); identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leading cross-functional partnership.
• Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high-level designs by partnering with the product management, project management, business, and user experience teams; obtaining cross-functional approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas.
•  Utilize industry research to improve Walmart's technology environment by analyzing industry best practices; benchmarking industry against internal processes and solutions; researching or influencing future industry solutions for fit with internal needs; and defining software development guidelines, standards, and processes.
•  Work with manager to ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives.
•  Support a collaborative environment across geographies for delivering best services to customers around the globe.
• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

What You'll Bring:

• 7+years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems
• Strong facility with F# (or similar functional language)
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Cloud (Azure/GCP/AWS), Kafka (or other messaging service), GraphQL, and NoSQL (Cassandra, Cosmos, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience working with Generative AI
• Strong desire to drive change and ability to adapt to change quickly
• Proficient in new and emerging technologies
• Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
