The position of Maintenance Technician includes multiple tasks that ultimately provide good manufacturing practices and on time delivery to the customer.  The individual must be able to support all manufacturing maintenance activities in the facility. Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety standards in addition to helping in the manufacturing area when needed. #LI-LL2

 

A Day in the Life

  • Comply with all safety requirements and training to support a GoalZero culture. This includes participating in all safety related activities such as safety talks, safety observations, audits, etc.
  • Calibration of instrumentation as needed.
  • Perform preventive/corrective maintenance and maintain accurate records. This includes the ability to dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, assemble, and lubricate equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Operate with a flexible work schedule including off shifts and in on-call situations.
  • Maintain accurate critical spares and parts inventory system.
  • Analyze operating processes to help maximize efficiency and assist with maintaining efficient machine operations.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues within the process or facility.
  • Blueprint reading, including electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Understand instructions and diagrams to successfully inspect, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and electrical equipment in our facility.
  • Determine the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
  • Determine when equipment needs to be shut down to prevent further damage.
  • Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate equipment.
  • Make permanent or temporary repairs and notify supervisor if outside assistance is required to complete repairs.
  • Operate Mill, Lathe, band saw, welder, Multi-meter, cutting torches, power hand tools, bench grinder, etc.
  • Locate source of trouble on electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting faulty operation.
  • Inspect and diagnose motors, switches, receptacles, circuit breakers, and electronic devices.  
  • Perform PLC programming on various types of devices and machines located within our facility.
  • Familiar with HVAC, Refrigeration Compressors and Condensation units, operations, Gas Fired Boiler operations and related processes.
  • Complete work orders or follow oral instructions to assist the manufacturing group in their daily operations.  
  • This person will be required to perform a wide range of duties including assisting the manufacturing group as needed.  
  • The position requires the ability to operate a forklift, perform general house cleaning duties, maintain a clean work environment, and operate machinery associated with production.

You Bring This Value

•    2 years experience working in a similar capacity at a manufacturing or production facility.
•    2 years experience working with PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, etc.
•    Knowledge of working with controls and 480 volt electrical circuits.
•    Proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
•    Ability to work overtime or weekends on short notice as needed.
•    Ability to apply basic mathematics skills.
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
•    Ability to work proactively and support other personnel and departments.
•    Ability to multitask and utilize the time available to organize and complete work within given deadlines.            
•    Maintain good attendance.
•    Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D
•    Relative certificates should be provided.  
•    Mechanical and problem-solving abilities.
