Your Responsibilities

 

As a Senior Product Development Process Assembly Manufacturing Engineer for the John Deere Seeding Group located in Valley City, ND, you provide technical and project management leadership for Manufacturing Engineering projects of moderate to large scope. The total value of this position's managed project portfolio can be up to $3M in active projects with high impact at a factory level. In addition, you will:

 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Manufacturing Engineering and will provide mentoring and guidance to more junior staff in the Air Seeding ME community.
  • Display strong knowledge of ECM coordination, IE documentation and methodology, and the ability to coordinate cross functionally and with the PDP ME organization.
  • Innovate and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement initiatives of broad scope.
  • Research, develop and implement electronic tools to optimize product, processes and facilities.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of plans to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System of broad scope.
  • Define and lead team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency of broad scope.
  • Define and lead analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology of broad scope.

What Skills You Need

 

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process
  • Background in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, etc.)
  • Expert understanding of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP)
  • 5 or more years of experience using database management tools and process management systems

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • 4 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, manufacturing, quality
  • 4 or more years of experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools
  • 2 or more years of experience working with design teams to specify design for manufacturing requirements
  • 4 or more years of experience in a team environment
  • 4 or more years of experience with shop floor manufacturing and work measurement
  • 4 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems and databases
  • 1 or more years of experience with JDAAT
  • 1 or more years of experience with MPPlanner/MPM Link

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology discipline
