The Security Intelligence Analyst works in AIG Travel’s 24/7/365 Travel Security Operations Center and provides support for daily operations as necessary. AIG Travel's security analysts must have a well-rounded background in international relations and security with strong writing and analytical skills. Analysts must have excellent research and global monitoring capabilities, an intuitive understanding of international security ramifications as well as strong communication abilities to adequately convey such information. Clear writing and oral communication skills are a necessity, as is an in-depth understanding of geopolitical developments. Additional specializations in the security industry, global travel experience and ability to read/speak other languages are preferred.

How you will create an impact:

  • Maintain knowledge of global current events to ensure developments are appropriately covered. Brief clients, internal stakeholders and/or leadership on global events as required. Proactively notify clients and internal stakeholders when necessary.
  • Contribute information to various products, including active monitoring services, daily Global News Watch newsletter, customized reports and security-related notifications.
  • Research and provide content updates for the AIG Travel Assistance site. Ensure country risk ratings documents and website references reflect accurate threat and risk levels for region of responsibility; collaborate with co-analysts to review and determine appropriate ratings and notify leadership of developments/trends that may warrant rating revisions.
  • Develop regional expertise to provide an accurate and in-depth understanding of present and future threats, including potential hotspots that may pose a security risk to clients.
  • Maintain strong open-source research abilities and continuously refine sources and intelligence-gathering methods.
  • Respond to phone calls to the security loop line and emails to the security mailbox and ensure all requests are acknowledged and actioned; provide excellent service when dealing with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support journey management or crisis operations as necessary, including briefing internal/external parties on developing situations, maintaining contact with security vendors and arranging operational services when needed.
  • Meet deadlines and maintain consistency with scheduled updates for various products and services; proactively seek out new information to include in products.
  • Interact with account managers, assistance centers, leadership, medical teams and/or other internal stakeholders to ensure product integrity and education.
  • Oversee division projects as directed by supervisors, especially projects related to report content/website management, etc. This includes overseeing the creation of tracking documents and ensuring deadlines are met among the analytical team.
  • Work with leadership as well as legal, marketing and compliance divisions to ensure compliance to AIG standards and policies.


What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, International Studies or related field preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of global geopolitical activity, threat conditions, government structures and associated background/context/implications. Knowledge of intelligence analysis processes and intel writing familiarity preferred.
  • Excellent reading and writing abilities; strong attention to detail and consistent, thorough grammatical knowledge is crucial. Demonstrated experience in a strong writing/editing role is a plus.
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • The ability to think critically and complete assignments, requests and other tasks with little guidance/oversight and with a strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to learn quickly and the flexibility to complete tasks outside of the immediate Security Intelligence Analyst role.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
