Senior Patent Specialist/Counsel

<p><strong>The team you'll be part of</strong></p> <p>As a Senior Patent Specialist/Counsel, you’ll be part of a team specialized for creating and managing a patent portfolio for ensure the technology evolution and leader of Nokia’s product Business. You will be working together with seasoned experts having long experience in legal, IPR and/or technical side as well with the Nokia inventor community. The work includes co-operation with e.g. Business unit product experts, standardisation and research in Nokia Bell Labs and with in-house and external counsels.</p> <p>The Patent Specialist/Counsel appointment is key within the IP Department of Nokia. The person appointed will have the opportunity to achieve considerable success within this long established and well-respected organisation. Due to its global reach, the incoming Senior Patent Specialist/Counsel will benefit from collaboration with international colleagues, and the potential for longer-term international career development that such a global organisation can offer.</p> <p><strong>What you will learn and contribute to</strong></p> <p>The key responsibilities of the Patent Specialist will include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Identify, capture, and manage Nokia's intellectual property with a focus on invention evaluation.</li> <li>Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications while ensuring compliance with legal standards.</li> <li>Prepare and review claim charts to support litigation and licensing initiatives.</li> <li>Reviewing claim charts and collaborating with experts to ascertain the claim scope <br/>and mapping to business-critical product implementations.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Your skills and experience</strong></p> <p>You have:</p> <ul> <li>Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or Information Technology.</li> <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent specialization or patent counsel, preferably in an industry setting.</li> <li>Strong understanding of wireless communication standards (4G/5G/ORAN/5GAdv/6G)  and related Radio Network Technologies. (e.g. RF HW, Baseband Processing, Sub THz, MIMO, SoC HW/SW, RAN CTRL, O&amp;M, Cloud RAN, applied AI/ML in wireless products)</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.</li> <li>The ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li> <li>Fluency in English</li> </ul> <p>It would be nice if you also had:</p> <ul> <li>A qualification as European or National Patent Attorney or Patent Agent or being a candidate working towards a full qualification of patent attorney</li> <li>Deep knowledge of patenting in AI/ML and computer-implemented software inventions is desirable.</li> <li>Deep knowledge of Nokia’s and/or third-party products and the respective technical implementations</li> <li>Proficiency in German, French, or Finnish is a plus.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b><span>Come create the technology that helps the world act together<br/> </span></b><span><br/> Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks.
