We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to establish the best-in-class AI tools and frameworks that empower our teams to build LLM-powered applications with greater speed, quality, and scalability. - The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
- United States (all figures cited below are in USD and pertain to workers in the United States)
- Zone A: $175,780 - $247,690
- Zone B: $164,500 - $232,180
- Zone C: $154,160 - $217,610
- Canada (figures cited below are in CAD and pertain to workers in ON & BC, Canada
- 199,280 - 281,060
- United States (all figures cited below are in USD and pertain to workers in the United States)
This role is also eligible to participate in Webflow's company-wide bonus program. Target amounts are a percentage of base salary and vary by career level. Payouts are based on company performance against established financial and operational goals.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll …
- Be a part of a diverse, remote-first, agile team supporting iterative and incremental shipping.
- Improve developer processes for building LLM-powered applications, helping to establish best practices in prompt engineering, experimentation, and quality assessments.
- Develop hands-on training resources, prompt guides , and best practices, and grow as the AI SME.
- Identify, evaluate, and operationalize third party AI tools, vendors, open-source tools, and custom models for compliance, security, and scalability.
- Leverage quantitative and qualitative metrics (DX Core 4) to eliminate engineering bottlenecks and make data-informed decisions.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Participate in all engineering activities including technical designing and implementation, testing and validation, releasing new capabilities, incident response, and interviewing.
- Solve problems in a highly technical platform that empowers hundreds of thousands of people.

About you:
You’ll thrive as a Staff Software Engineer if you:
- Have 7+ years of experience in Developer Tooling, including 2+ years of software development focused on AI and/or AI Platform Teams
- Have 2+ years experience tech-leading platform teams on engineering build and delivery problems
- Accelerate the development of AI-based software at Webflow
- Bring software development best practices to AI toolchains and libraries
- Have an intuition of AI/ML concepts and technologies, such as LLMs, vector databases, RAG, MCP, and prompt engineering
- Have experience measuring and improving the quality of large language model outputs through the use of techniques like prompt engineering and fine tuning
- Write and update scalable software in modern stacks such as Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS, coding primarily in TypeScript
- Thrive in collaborative, cross-functional teams, and are excited to mentor and contribute to the team’s overall success
- Stay curious and open to growth — actively building fluency
