In this high-impact role, you'll work directly with government agencies, legal counsel, and internal leaders to ensure regulatory compliance, drive risk mitigation, and unlock financial opportunities. You'll be the trusted expert guiding our North American operations through evolving legislation, customs requirements, and corporate initiatives, playing a key role in everything from trade strategy to national security programs like C-TPAT. Your key responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on U.S. and Canadian Customs requirements to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of corporate compliance policies, internal controls, and training programs to ensure alignment with national regulations.
  • Identify and implement Customs programs and duty-saving opportunities to drive cost efficiencies and enhance profitability across North American operations.
  • Represent the company in interactions with U.S. and Canadian authorities and direct legal strategies involving trade tribunals and courts.
  • Oversee Customs audit preparation and response, ensuring all internal processes, goods flows, and financial transactions are audit-ready and compliant.
  • Manage tariff classification, country of origin determinations, and third-party customs brokers to ensure accurate, efficient import/export operations.

 

The salary range provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided. Salary $137,500-$171,800.
