The Installation Helper Position Sunnova Energy is searching for an Installation Helper to join our team. The Helper’s primary responsibility is installing all electrical components of a photovoltaic system; including, but not limited to solar panels, racking, batteries, and inverters. Installations will occur on residential homes to meet all quality and performance standards set forth by the company, manufacturer, utility, and National Electrical Code. The position will provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers, employees, and business partners.The Helper works as part of a team and follows the instructions of the Installation Electrician. The Helper must abide by all company safety regulations, be adaptable, a good communicator, and comfortable working on the roof. They need to be familiar with standard photovoltaic rules and guidelines, know how to follow site plans, and ensure a clean job site.

Responsibilities
- Installs solar panels, battery and other associated items within a photovoltaic system according to engineering designs, permits and electrical code
- Follows of all company safety guidelines
- Ensures installation meets all company quality and performance requirements
- Submit timely reports through Sunnova software showing project progress, quality and completion
- Collaborates closely with other team members to ensure an efficient installation
- Utilizes knowledge, skills, and testing equipment to commission systems and evaluate system issues
- Identifies solutions to resolve technical design problems
- Manages vehicle-material stock and equipment inventory
- Provides training to customers about system operation and maintenance
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- 3+ years’ experience in residential construction
- Prior experience working on residential rooftops
- Current, valid Driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English
- Standard electrician hand tools to complete job responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Certified
- 1+ years’ experience in the solar industry
- Licensed electrical apprentice
- Bilingual; English and Spanish
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Organized and maintains a professional appearance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Working Conditions
- Location varies with job site
- Ability to travel overnight up to 25%
- Must be willing to travel (drive and/or fly) for projects depending on jobsite proximity to permanent address
- Driving required; needs valid Driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Physical Requirements
- Long hours spent outside on residential rooftops, driving to customer residences, some ground and rooftop work.
- Various weather conditions include cold and snowy, hot and humid, and everything in between; must be comfortable working in different environments
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs; assistance may be provided for oversized items
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours at a time
- Work postures include reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, and handling objects above/below the shoulder
