Job Description

We are seeking a Credit Risk Data Leader within the Credit Transformation, Data Strategy and Insights team which is part of our Credit Risk Administration (CRA) team. We seek an experienced leader to oversee data product resources, implement new technologies and tools, advance data modeling and analytics, promote and implement cloud scalable solutions, and strengthen data governance.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead a team responsible for both day-to-day credit data quality and management as well as the transformation and oversight of credit data processes that support Credit Risk Management. You will split your time between hands-on data process management and execution and transforming the platform to strategically modernize our data infrastructure, strengthen governance, and align with enterprise-wide data strategies.

You will own and evolve the credit data vision and domain, integrating new technologies, overseeing governance practices, and ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy. This role is central to both day-to-day operational excellence and the modernization of our data platforms, supporting teams across Credit Risk Management.

You will represent credit in key critical projects including Basel 3 End Game, Category II migration and enterprise data strategy.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, Risk Managers, Model Owners, Technology teams, Source System owners, Business Line partners, Data Domain owners, and Reporting functions to gather requirements, define priorities, and deliver scalable data solutions. You will also partner with the Chief Data Product Officer to align credit data with enterprise data domain strategy and governance standards.

Key Activities

  • Lead the design and implementation of credit data strategy, including governance, new technology adoption, and modernization.
  • Oversee BAU data processes (i.e. Month and Quarter End Close), ensuring data quality, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support system conversions and cloud migration efforts, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Drive adoption of open-source tools and cloud-native platforms to enhance scalability and flexibility.
  • Leverage AI tools and platforms, including Microsoft Copilot, to enhance productivity, automate processes, and support data workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define, prioritize, centralize, and standardize data requirements, ensuring that the solutions delivered support both credit and business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Support global delivery efforts.

Core Competencies

  • Deep understanding of credit data across Commercial, Wholesale, and Retail portfolios.
  • Credit data governance and regulatory knowledge (e.g., Basel III, Category II, CCAR, CECL, Regulatory Submissions FRY14).
  • Cloud data architecture and open-source tooling (e.g., Spark, Airflow, AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
  • Data strategy and domain alignment.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven tools and automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Power Platform) to streamline data operations and accelerate data delivery.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement.
  • Technical fluency in SQL, Python, or similar languages.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10 or more years at a financial institut
