Purpose:

 

Contributes to the overall success of the US HR Governance function in the US by managing the day-to-day administration, coordination, and deliverables that ensure US HR risk, governance, project management, reporting, and related activities are conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Contribute to the overall development of the US HR Governance function by assisting colleagues in US HR Governance projects, including business Risk Assessments, Internal Audit request, and Compliance based activities
  • Responsible for the accuracy of documents on internal HR document repository, AskHR, including conducting document review cycles for HR policies and procedures, and over management of AskHR for the US
  • Participate in project management activities, recording meeting minutes, and distributing relevant project management materials 
  • Participate in the establishing, strengthening and development of US HR processes and departmental work flow, and responsible to ensure process flows are reviewed and maintained on a regular basis
  • Frequent cross-functional collaboration within the Human Resources team to gather, analyze, interpret, and visualize information 
  • Ability to proactively identify operational risks and participate in proposing applicable controls 
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or business required  
  • 2-4 years of professional experience preferred, ideally in the Banking sector 
  • HR certifications, preferred
  • HR generalist experience within a Financial services industry experience, preferred
  • Experienced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe
  • Strong communication skills in written and verbal forms
  • You have a positive attitude and a strong level of attention to detail and deadlines
  • You have the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage various initiatives simultaneously
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and processes and how they relate to HR systems
