SUMMARY
This role entails overseeing and directing the efforts of engineers and engineering technicians to ensure the safety of the plant, product quality, timely delivery of manufacturing/prototype orders, continuous improvement, and product qualification. Additionally, this position involves performing supervisory functions in addition to an existing engineering role.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintain functionality of Process and/or Product Development Engineer duties in assigned areas.
• Attend or designate coverage for production stand-up, waste, value stream team, product management, and factory project planning meetings.
• Lead engineering team meetings for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Drive actions and monitor the progress of engineer and engineering technician activities in support of product qualification and value stream team objectives.
• Ensure the utilization of formal documentation techniques.
• Execute the departmental administrative duties related to attendance, conditional release of purchase requisitions, and performance management systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• 5+ years of data bus, fiber optic, high frequency, medical, or power transmission cable manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in wire and cable production and product development preferred.
• Experience with FMEA creation and deployment methodologies preferred.
• Experience in technical resource supervision required.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and cellular-based manufacturing preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Basic addition and subtraction skills.
JOB SKILLS
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint is necessary.
• Ability to train, motivate, multi-task, and set priorities.
• Knowledge about the operation and design of aircraft systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with regulatory certification requirements for aircraft electrical and avionics systems is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office
• Skills in the use of 2D and/or 3D design software a plus.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Familiar with work orders and related technical documentation
• Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast-paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
• Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
