About the role

At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the roadmap, planning, and quality customer experience of the Compass iOS and Android applications, ensuring the Compass platform meets the needs of its users on-the-go, maximizing customer value and adoption. Our Mobile team is centralized, and in this role, you will collaborate with partner PMs that are responsible for their products across mobile and web, while you will be responsible for the product vision for mobile-specific product areas.

A successful candidate will thrive on cross-functional collaboration and on the holistic prioritization of resources for maximum user impact. You have extensive native mobile product management experience and are used to partnering closely with Engineering and Design. Your communication skills are impeccable and you enjoy rallying stakeholders, including executives and larger groups, to find consensus and even compromise. You can think on the fly and not only apply but communicate and rationalize prioritization decisions.

At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. This means we continually celebrate the diverse community different individuals cultivate. As an equal opportunity employer, we stay true to our mission by ensuring that our place can be anyone’s place.

Please note: This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in our Manhattan, NY office (110 5th Ave).

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with Engineering, lead the annual and quarterly planning cycles for Compass’ iOS and Android roadmaps, including gathering cross-functional inputs and applying prioritization frameworks to determine which projects will be funded
  • Own the overall native platform user experiences, including, for example, home screen, authentication flow, settings and feature hierarchy. Additionally, consider the app’s overall navigation and consistency in user experience
  • Defines a holistic long term Product vision for both iOS and Android apps. For example, this might include investing more on certain flows or further investing in the Design System framework to speed up velocity
  • Act as the Product Lead for Mobile specific features/functionality, driving the project’s ideation, research, design, and development. For example, implementing more secure authentication methods or AI feature integrations on our applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Teams to ensure the successful delivery of critical mobile projects, including weighing in on UX and implementation decisions (for example, ensuring consistent experiences across products or building native components vs. embedded mobile web components)
  • Drive and disseminate organization wide best practices to cement Mobile as a key step in the upstream product/feature lifecycle, arming Product team PMs and Designers with the information and skills to develop Platform-inclusive strategies

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in product management roles building and launching successful products, including > 2 years building native mobile products on iOS and/or Android
  • A deep sense of user empathy and proven track record of building product experiences that users love
  • Strong communication with and management of various stakeholders, including consensus and relationship-building skills
  • An ability to lead by influencing others, without the need to project formal authority
  • An ability to collect, synthesize, and prioritize feedback and requirements from disparate sources, going beyond users’ requests to get to key user needs, and the ability to rationalize across and resolve stakeholder differences
  • Strong experience and comfort with Product Management fundamentals, such as composing product specification/requirement documentation, participating in and leading Agile Scrum ceremonies, QA testing, and go-to-market plans
  • A propensity to seek out data and drive towards data-driven decisions and recommendations
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of the tech stack and implications of its implementation for the roadmap and future development
  • A sense of ownership and thoroughness: you proactively follow up on action items to ensure that no balls are dropped, and that all critical milestones are met
