Position Summary

As a Cloud DevOps Administrator within the data organization, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing data, infrastructure, and tools to support data-driven applications and services. You will collaborate with data engineers, data architects, cloud administrators, software development and business teammates to optimize data processing, storage, and workflows, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across multiple cloud environments.

Job Responsibility

Data Pipeline Automation

• Collaborate with cross functional data teams to support ingestion, processing, and uptime of inbound data across our cloud environments.
• Implement automation scripts and workflows using open-source Apache tools for orchestration frameworks to monitor the streamlining of data processing tasks.
• Partner with data teams to support the optimization of data pipeline performance, reliability, and fault tolerance to ensure efficient data flow and processing.
   

Infrastructure Provisioning and Management

• Deploy and manage infrastructure components for data storage, processing, and analytics on cloud platforms such as Snowflake or AWS.
• Partner with IT & data teams to implement infrastructure as a code (IaC) practices to automate provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.
• Monitor and optimize infrastructure & cloud utilization, scalability, and cost-effectiveness to support growing data requirements and workloads.
   

Data Storage and Management

• Configure and manage distributed data storage systems such as Amazon S3, EC2, etc for scalable and cost-effective data storage solutions.

• Administer and optimize data warehouse systems including SQL, NOSQL, and streaming services for data storage and retrieval.
• Deploy storage encryption, data at rest, and data in transit.
• Optimize cloud-based performance capabilities and support query performance.
   

Data Security

• Collaborate with Data Governance team to implement data security measures and access controls to protect sensitive data assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (both state and federal)
• Collaborate with data gov to define and enforce governance policies, data retention policies, and data lifecycle management practices to ensure data integrity and privacy.
• Partner with InfoSec to conduct regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and security reviews to identify and mitigate potential security risks and threats. 
   

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams including data engineering, software development, and tech ops to understand data requirements and technical specifications.
• Document infrastructure configurations, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new teammates.
• Participate in the agile process, sprint planning sessions, and technical discussions to prioritize tasks, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
