As a Cybersecurity Data Engineer, you will report to and partner with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) be a part of a fast-paced, results-driven, multi-national team.  You will work directly with the CISO to design, build, implement, and manage strategic and tactical data analysis activities.  

So, what will you be doing as a Cybersecurity Data Engineer?

  • Work with Information Security leadership to translate business requirements into impactful data visualizations and data models in platforms like PowerBI and other analytics tools.
  • Work closely with business leaders, project stakeholders, and subject matter experts to understand and optimize key business processes. Use SQL, data transformation, and data modeling skills to turn data into actionable insights and optimized solutions.
  • Review data output from structured and unstructured data sets
  • Create data correlations between varied data sources and values using parsers, regular expression, middleware, data transformations, scripts, etc.
  • Aggregate multiple data sources to provide summary metrics (graphs, table, charts, etc)
  • Interpret data patterns and trends to draw conclusions, forecast outcomes, and provide recommendations.
  • Design, build, and implement collaboration solutions using the Microsoft technologies (SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, etc)
  • Create customized dashboards, reports, metrics, and interactive web pages to allow for live review of large data sets and correlations.
  • Lead development of end-to-end analytics projects for our manufacturing, IT, and business operations groups from conception through delivery, driving effective visualizations across multiple KPI’s and Metrics.
  • Partner with data engineers on technical design of complex data sourcing, transformation, and aggregation logic to meet business analytics needs and deliver value.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Information Management, Statistics, Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years of Information Security experience, as well as 5+ years of relevant experience in related analytics, data science, or business intelligence role working with data platforms such as Excel, SQL, Oracle, Splunk, Snowflake, MySQL, S3, Hadoop, ADL, GCS, Elastic, Access, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, and design data correlations and queries
  • Experience and advanced level of technical knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and SharePoint Online)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • Strong “driver” personality to execute and meet aggressive deadlines with consistent success
  • Demonstrated log analysis proficiency in multiple security platforms and layers including endpoint security, SIEM platforms, network security, Microsoft Active Directory, OT security, and operating systems
  • Ability to drive and execute improvement of current processes, think outside the box and constantly improve processes based on metrics and statistics
  • Ability to develop custom applications, scripts, apps, or code as needed to support the data analysis, reporting, dashboards etc.
  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data such as JSON, XML, and flat files to extract transform and load data
  • Experience working with ticketing solutions to build dashboards and reports
  • Ability and experience in writing clear and concise technical documentation
  • Experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, or other scripting languages
  • Experience with extract, transform, and loading (ETL) processes for data management and analysis

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Experience with S or R languages
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, such as NIST CSF, CMMC, and ISO
  • One or more Security Certifications such as (Security +, Network +, CISSP, CEH, GCIA, GCIH, GPEN, GSOC, CISM)
