About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Intelligence Analyst Senior in our Virginia Fusion Center (VFC) at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will serve as Liaison Officer to Virginia’s education institutions for the Criminal Intelligence Division (CID) and VFC by contacting education representatives to encourage sharing of information relating to terrorism, criminal activity and threats to public safety; coordinate the activities of education partners; manage the program to ensure appropriate, timely and authorized exchange of information and intelligence with the VFC; research and coordinate the delivery of relevant topics of interest for education stakeholders to provide appropriate training; provide training, if needed, to be conducted utilizing established practices such as those set by Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services; coordinate meetings with partners and conducts outreach to education institutions; prepare visual presentations (briefings) for field personnel and other Law Enforcement agencies; and maintain liaison with other agencies regarding criminal activity.

Minimum Qualifications

•Knowledge of research and analysis techniques.
•Intermediate proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively collect, analyze, summarize, interpret and communicate information and technical data orally and in writing; to apply critical thinking to diverse information sets and to produce logic-based analysis and recommendations on probable and potential trends and event outcomes; to maintain accurate and complete files, manage multiple priorities, and follow oral and written instructions in English; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of municipal, state, and federal personnel and representatives of other agencies and organizations; to work semi-independently, establish priorities, and achieve high level results with limited direct supervision; and to create and provide intelligence briefings for all levels of personnel.
•Experience in government, business, or criminal justice to include analytical experience and criminal analytical training.
•Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
•Requires three-year commitment to the Virginia Fusion Center and ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Additional Considerations

•General knowledge of information technology-based analysis platforms and software to produce one or more of the following: Geographic Information System (GIS) based maps, text, tables, graphs, and charts is preferred.
•Public safety experience or other broad scope of governmental experience desired.
