Wound Care Nurse - Med Surg - Part Time
This Med Surg unit typically fills 20 beds on an average day. Its a general med surg seeing a wide range of patients including but not limited to: sepsis, hypertensive crisis, post CVA care, diabetic complications, and post stroke patients. This unit is smaller in size so a great place to grow and learn in your nursing career. Leadership does career pathway counseling and cross training opportunities are also available.
Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, performs the primary function of an RN in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients in the Wound Healing Center. Is responsible for meeting the established WHC Standards of Nursing Practice in the management of all assigned patients. Assists physicians with the development and implementation of wound treatment plans and participates in performance improvement review activities. Acts within the guidelines of federal and state laws, JCAHO Standards and professional and ethical practice.
Employment Qualifications
- Registered Nurse, graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current state licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years med-surg experience. Wound Care experience preferred.
- Wound Care Nurse (WCN) Certification required within 3 years of hire
