The Role

Intern must be available to work full time (40 hours/week) during the 10-week program

 

Program Dates: May 29 – August 7, 2026.

Location: This position is fully remote / work from home in the continental US. 

Work Authorization: US Work Authorization required for this role. 

 

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment to the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.

The Main Responsibilities

As an Intern in Lumen's Product you will: 

· Data Platform Operations: Help monitor and maintain data platforms used for integration, storage, and analysis. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure systems are running efficiently and reliably.

· Data Governance Exposure: Participate in the development and enforcement of data governance policies. Support efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to data quality initiatives.

· Data Solution Development: Work with cross-functional teams to explore and implement data-driven solutions. Assist in evaluating tools and technologies that improve data architecture and integration.

· Project Coordination: Shadow project managers and contribute to data governance projects. Help track progress, prepare documentation, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

· Team Collaboration & Learning: Engage with mentors and team members in a collaborative environment. Take part in training sessions, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing activities to build your skills and understanding of enterprise data practices.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required qualifications

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
• Graduating August 2026 – May 2028
• Preferred fields include but not limited to: Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a similar related field of study. 

Proficiency and understanding of:

· Data platforms, data integration, data architecture, and structuring of data within databases for optimal AI performance;

· Effective communication within a group setting; and

· Best practices for developing and implement data governance strategies within a large organization

Preferred Skills:

· Strong proficiency in the entire Microsoft Suite

· Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools.

· Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services.

Compensation

 

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual’s level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range:

  Min: $31/hour

  Max: $46/hour
