The Vanderbilt Health Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for an Executive Director and Associate Operating Officer - Vanderbilt Transplant Center. The Executive Director and Associate Operating Officer shall provide general management for the operations of the Vanderbilt Transplant Center (VTC) by providing administrative oversight and leadership in a manner that supports the mission, credo, and vision of VUMC. Through a partnership with the Transplant Medical Director, Transplant Surgical Director, and Associate Nursing Officer, the Executive Director and Associate Operating Officer will have strategic and operating responsibility for VTC. The Executive Director and Associate Operating Officer collaborates with Medical, Surgical, Nursing, and Administrative Leaders across VUMC in the determination of functions and processes to achieve VTC goals.The Executive Director and Associate Operating Officer of the Vanderbilt Transplant Center is responsible for oversight of the daily transplantation services ensuring patient-centric and cost-effective high-quality outcomes while maintaining positive community relations and building new referral networks. The Executive Director and Associate Operating Officer will aid in the development and execution of clinical, educational, administrative, and quality initiatives/projects to improve patient care quality and ensure patient safety. The Executive Director and Associate Operating Officer will ensure compliance with all professional, governmental, and transplant regulatory agencies such as UNOS, OPTN, CMS, and the Joint Commission. The Executive Director and Associate Operating Officer will design, implement, and evaluate clinical, and financial managed care agreements with insurance providers and track and evaluate expenses and reimbursement for program services.

Role Accountabilities:
Leadership
- Establish the mission, strategic plan, operational/programmatic plans, and practices for the PCC.
- Lead activities related to performance, improvement, and risk management programs to establish and meet clinical quality goals, effective cost management, patient satisfaction, and business goals.
- Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs and services, assuring appropriate resources for the delivery of care.
- Builds and maintains key strategic partnerships, both internally across VUMC and within the marketplace, that facilitate the achievement of goals and objectives.
- Takes initiative in identifying and facilitating the resolution of transplant operational, financial, and quality/regulatory problems.
- Participates in a leadership role within appropriate regional and national transplant professional activities.
- Represents the Transplant Center Medical and Surgical Directors at meetings and conferences and acts on their behalf as requested. Assumes administrative responsibilities of the Directors in their absence as requested.
- Acts as Co-Chair with the Transplant Center Medical and Surgical Directors for the Transplant Quality Council and Transplant Program Directors Meetings. Provides minutes of meetings.
- Acts as Co-Chair with the Transplant Center Directors for oversight of Transplant Pharmacy Outcomes Research, Transplant Ethics, Transplant Social Work, Transplant Infectious Diseases, and other transplant-related unique support services.
- Functions as liaison with affiliate hospitals and other community organizations (i.e. organ procurement organizations).
- Ensures that the mission, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of VTC are communicated, understood, and accomplished by all staff.
