Role Description

The MRB (Material Review Board) Quality Technician based in Eighty Four, PA will perform a vital role as a hands-on inspector at Form Energy supporting operations. You will work closely with the Production, Quality, and Engineering teams in our pilot operations to support the production of our products. This is an excellent opportunity to play a special role in the early development and initial production of Form Energy’s new products.

This opportunity is based out of the Greater Pittsburgh Area at our Eighty Four, PA facility.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct detailed inspections of incoming materials, components, and finished products to identify defects, non-conformities, and deviations from quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, including photographs and detailed reports.

  • Collaborate with the quality control team to resolve material quality issues and determine disposition (accept, reject, or rework).

  • Perform rework tasks on defective components or products to bring them into compliance with quality standards.

  • Utilize various tools, equipment, and techniques to repair or modify materials as necessary.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of all rework activities on a MES (Manufacturing Execution System) System, including work performed, materials used, and time spent.

  • Collaborate with the MES team to make any necessary process changes in order to meet engineering specifications.

  • Collaborate with the production and quality teams to identify root causes of defects and non-conformities, and propose process improvements.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.

  • Provide training and guidance to other team members on rework processes and best practices.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and engineering, to resolve material-related issues promptly.

  • Be a champion for safety in all of your work.

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience (3+ years) in a manufacturing or production environment, with a focus on material review and rework processes

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or technical training in a related field is a definite plus

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and quality issues

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team

  • Experience using and inputting data into computerized systems, preferably experience with MES systems.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members

  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds

  • Ability to work 12 hour shift schedule.
