Warehouse Sr. Technician

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Site Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

What we’re looking for  

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience: 2+ years of material handling, shipping, and receiving.
• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office Suite experience
• Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, and security clearances
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A driver's license is needed to perform the job successfully
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional can-do attitude.
• Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.
• Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies, and procedures
• Must be flexible, forward-thinking, motivated, and can act independently
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Experience with processing FedEx/UPS Domestic and International shipments a plus
• IATA/49CFR knowledge/Certification is a plus

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group, serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Transfer data from hard copy to a digital client's database
• Travel to customers' sites with the company vehicle
• Update customer information in a database
• Verify outdated data and make any necessary changes to records
• Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost and file
• Helps and supports the day-to-day activities of the team
• Ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are completed properly.
• checking and unloading of inbound/outbound shipments, in accordance with high level of safety
• Verifies required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, as needed.
• Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage..
• Assists in physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Provides support with chemical (incl. hazardous materials) material services, such as barcoding, record keeping inside Client’s database.
• Ensures the efficient and safe operation of warehouse activities.
• Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area.
• Help create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team
• Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
• Attends warehouse planning meetings.
• Communicates industry and brand knowledge to associates.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Updates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures
