At Eaton, you won’t just be designing control systems—you’ll be shaping the future of how power is protected, distributed, and controlled across critical infrastructure. This is a high-impact role working on next-generation power electronic circuit protection technologies used in both AC and DC applications across industries moving toward electrification and sustainability.
If you’re excited by model-based design, advanced control systems, and real-world hardware validation, this is a rare opportunity to work on technology that directly influences product innovation at scale.

As a Senior Controls Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor to the design and development of advanced control systems powering Eaton’s next-generation circuit protection products.

What you’ll do:

•    Design and develop model-based control systems (MATLAB/Simulink) for cutting-edge power electronic applications
•    Translate models into production-ready solutions using auto-code generation and embedded C/C++ integration
•    Validate and refine control strategies through Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) and real-time embedded testing
•    Work hands-on with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, embedded systems, etc.) to bring designs to life
•    Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, and product experts to deliver innovative solutions
•    Drive projects forward—owning timelines, deliverables, and technical outcomes
•    Contribute to intellectual property and next-gen technology development

•    Experience with HiL systems or real-time simulation/validation
•    Embedded systems knowledge (C/C++ or firmware integration)
•    Strong understanding of controls theory and system modeling

Who will thrive here:
•    Engineers who like seeing their work move from concept → simulation → real hardware
•    Problem-solvers who enjoy cross-functional collaboration
•    Candidates from adjacent domains (automotive, aerospace, robotics, energy) with strong controls backgrounds

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
•    Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited institution
•    Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in designing, developing or testing power system analysis or motor controls.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience in utilizing test equipment such as oscilloscopes
•    Experience with DFSS tools
•    Master’s degree in electrical/computer engineering from an accredited institution
•    Experience with Matlab/Simulink
•    Experience C/C++ for embedded systems
•    Experience working with power electronic and power systems or motor controls
